How to Apply

INITIAL CONTACT: TERRIFIC Inn tenancy may result from a telephone call or a walk-in face-to-face contact.
INITIAL INTERVIEW: A screening process is utilized to determine whether the initial interview and assessment are necessary. The screening process is based upon basic eligibility criteria, including:

Age - applicant must be 62 years or older

Disability Status – A developmental handicap confirmed by a medical exam.

Income Status – Assessed and determined acceptable to HUD Section 8-202 Housing Regulations
REVIEW OF HUD VERIFICATION/INFORMATION

Applicant determined eligible to receive HUD Verification Documents

Applicant returns completed documents for review and verification with the interviewer

Applicant received a building and apartment walk-through to determine interest
-
Applicant is informed that a waiting list may exist
IN-HOUSE REVIEW OF APPLICANT’S APPLICATION: Application and documents are reviewed and discussed by an interdisciplinary reviewer team, including interviewer, social worker, health/medical representative, etc.
ASSESSMENT OF APPLICANT’S PRIOR LIVING ENVIRONMENT: Interviewer visits and assesses applicant’s previous living environmental and physical surrounding.
APPLICANTS APPROVAL FOR DESIGNATED SPACE ALLOCATION

Applicant’s final face-to-face interview with TERRIFIC, Inc. interviewer

HUD and TERRIFIC Inn regulations are reviewed with potential tenant

Final building and apartment walk-through occur
-
Potential tenant signs lease agreement and move-in arrangement are discussed and confirmed
-
New tenant is welcomed to the TERRIFIC Inn
